About Us
HOW WE GOT TO WHERE WE ARE TODAY.
LGH Fitness was started by myself, Lyndsey Howarth back in 2015. But what led me to follow a career in sport and fitness?
From the age of 5, I was a competitive tennis player competing all over the UK. I've worked with the best Tennis Coaches and Personal Trainers in the country so I know what it takes to be a good trainer. I was competing to a very high standard aiming to turn professional but, sadly, this all came to an end when a reoccurring knee injury forced me to undergo surgery and meant that I could no longer compete to the same level.
It was at this point I knew I had to put my huge love for tennis and fitness into action another way so I decided to do my Personal Training and Tennis Coaching qualifications. By the age of 18 I was a Level 3 Tennis Coach, Level 3 Personal Trainer, Studio Cycling Instructor, Circuit Trainer and Nutritional Advisor.
This was 2015, and the point where I started LGH Fitness alongside beginning my career at David Lloyd Chorley. I became their first ever employee to be both a Tennis Coach and Personal Trainer. 2015 was a big year for me as you can probably tell! Whilst working at David Lloyd I discovered my love for Group Fitness and I qualified with Les Mills to teach BodyPump, RPM and GRIT. Alongside that I've also now qualified to teach David Lloyd's bespoke classes, Blaze, Cyclone, Battlebox and Ignite, all of which are fantastic.
Then COVID struck and gyms were shut. We all knew being as fit as we could would help our chances at fighting this awful disease so I discovered the world of online training. Zoom became my best friend and I started doing both 1-2-1 Personal Training and Group Fitness Classes all online. Alongside this I wanted to further my knowledge in the fitness industry so I booked onto my Level 4 Strength & Conditioning qualification. And here we are now, in 2021 and my goal is to help people reach their goals, whether that is to lose 2 stone, run a marathon (I've also done a marathon, yes I'm mad) or even if it's just to feel happier in yourself.
